Brian Snell

Brian Snell received his law degree from the University at Buffalo Law School in 1998 and began his legal career as the Law Clerk to Clinton County Surrogate Court Judge Kevin K. Ryan. Brian concentrates his practice in the areas of Real Estate, Trusts & Estates, Elder Law, Asset Protection and Medicaid Planning. He routinely conducts seminars throughout the North Country in the Elder Law practice area and is a member of the New York State Bar Association Elder Law and Special Needs Practice Section and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

 

Brian attended Peru Elementary School and graduated from Mount Assumption Institute in 1982. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in 1986. While on active duty, he served as an Armor officer in Germany, Fort Bliss, TX, Saudi Arabia and Iraq during the Persian Gulf War and at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Brian has been awarded two Meritorious Service Medals and was selected as a General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award recipient, an annual award given to eighteen select Company Grade Officers by the Army Chief of Staff. After leaving active service, Brian continued his career as a JAG Corps officer in the Reserves and National Guard and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2008. He is married to the former Diann Rae Johnston of Westernport, Maryland and they have one son, Matthew.
